I am Jim Heaphy in American Canyon, California, and I have operated my small family business TopRepair as a sole proprietorship since 1993, which consists of me, my wife and my son, who works for us as an independent 1099 contractor. I have been a Bank of America customer personally since 1981 and have had a business checking account and business VISA card with BofA since 1993.
I am 68 years old and was discussing reorganizing my business as a partnership with my son when the pandemic hit. We have no employees on the payroll, and therefore my understanding is that we are not eligible for the PPP program, but that we can apply for other programs for the self-employed on April 10.
I would like more information about whatever programs are available for self-employed sole proprietors that can help me save my business.
Hi Toprepair. Here is an article that you might find helpful. You can also see the loans available from the US Small Business Administration here.
Hope this helps. Best wishes for you and your small business during this time of crisis.
