Yes, Cash Discounting has been around way before credit cards or another way to get customers to pay early.
A cash discount is a deduction allowed by some sellers of goods or by some providers of services
in order to motivate customers to pay within a specified time.
50 years ago, most invoices went out "Discount 2% 10 Days, Net 30".
Today, many Professionals will give a discount for cash.
Stores will forgo sales tax to make a cash sale.
Yes fewer people want to handle BUT cash is KING and yes customers with cash love to save.
I'm in the credit card processing industry (not a processor) and we've been seeing an upswing in business owners asking about cash discounting. Essentially, you offer customers a discount on the shelf / menu price if they pay with cash. If they pay with card, they pay the listed price.
Has anyone implemented it? If so, what kind of business? What has the customer reaction been like?
