Welcome keithsea.  We are happy that you have chosen to be a part of our community.  Won't you take a few minutes and go to Introduce Yourself and tell us a bit about your business.  It would be helpful to anyone who would like to give you some of their advice if you would tell us what methods you have tried to sell online, too.

Hi keithsea!  As Cath stated above, we're glad to have you as part of our community.

Selling on Amazon can be a daunting, but rewarding process, as more and more shoppers move away from "brick and mortar" stores to the convenience of online shopping.  As Christmas season approaches (it's closer than you think!), take the time to fine tune your listings now.

Our experts have many articles that I fee you will find helpful in increasing sales.  Understanding What Shoppers Want Online, gives some great tips on how to tailor your item listings to make your product more appealing to a browsing buyer.  Make sure your prices are competitive with other similar listings, you don't want to be the highest, or the lowest price on an identical item.  This article explains in details the importance of competitive pricing, What Your Prices Say About Your Small Business.

There are numerous expert articles you can browse, as well as our discussion boards.  Feel free to start a discussion or ask questions along the way.

We look forward to hearing more about you, and the items you are selling!

            Cheers,

            -Rebecc

I will say that once you have your products on Amazon..maybe offering a discount first? and also encouraging the people who buy your products for a review well because the power of customer-reviews is quite huge, 88% of consumers now say that they trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.

Hi. We have a small farm overseas. We were considering selling spices on Amazon. However we do not know how to find out if we need licenses or anything because it is a food prodcut.

Hi mheiberg!  Welcome to our community!  You might want to start a separate discussion for your question since you are specifically interested in selling spices.  There are probably some regulations regarding edible items and importing foods from overseas that some of our community members might be familiar with.  Additionally, I'd suggest looking at the amazon.com site itself for their specific rules regarding your items.  You can find that information on the amazon.com site under the "Selling on Amazon" section.

Please keep us informed on what you find out!

                    Cheers,

                    -Rebecca

                    Hello

There is lot of things to do to improve your shop on Amazon. But the key to success on Amazon is to sell the right products. If you set up a store before knowing what you are going to sell then you are setting yourself up for failure.

I recommend you to find a niche market and trending products. You can check the trends with Amazon, check the "best seller" "the most wished" and "the most gifted" of a category. You can also use Google Trends.

The best place to find suppliers is Alibaba and Aliexpress. Alibaba is a chinese B2B e-commerce platform, Aliexpress is a chinese B2C e-commerce platform. You should also try to contact wholesalers from your country. Don't be scared to negotiate the price with them.

I also recommend you to make your own website or your own blog, it will generate traffic for you Amazon shop. Talk about your products, make videos, etc. google love pictures and videos. If your products are on the first page of google then you'll increase your sales.

There is few other techniques to improve your sales on Amazon, I wrote an article about it : How to be successful on Amazon

I hope it will help you.
