Welcome to the community.
My first question to you is DO YOU HAVE A BUSINESS PLAN??
The reason I ask is that part of the plan should include Marketing.
Marketing your product and detailing your sales forecast.
Sounds simple, but you should include additional supplier info.
Some good sources might be the Better Business Bureau, your accountant,
your banker, Trade associations and also SCORE.
Good luck, LUCKIEST
Local/national trade associations are good sources. Their membership often has information on a range of partners and suppliers that includes quality, reliability, etc. Suppliers are also using them the inquire about you and your prompt pay / credit record.
Other areas to explore may be Alibaba - don't know much about how they rate suppliers, but their suppliers are global. Also check with Dun & Bradstreet - they have a Supplier business with a significant amount of data available about suppliers, their quality/risks/etc.
Good suggestions snarrsky.
First off, welcome to our community! Snarrsky has given you some great advice! Local and national trade associations are definitely excellent resources. Also, Praneel, have you attended any trade shows? Even if you do not have a product to sell at this time, you will be able to meet many people who do, and develop networks that could provide supplier leads, and possibly even future customers. Our experts have written a great article about the importance of trade shows, which I think you might find helpful - Trade Shows: Old-fashioned social networking that still works in the 21st century.
I know our helpful members will continue to chime in with their great advice, and hope that you find this community enjoyable and informative in helping you with your business venture. Please feel free to browse our forum, and jump in on any discussion with any questions or advice you may have.
Best of luck,
Thanks so much Moderator Rebecca.
YES Trade shows are very important in business.
We have one coming up later this month and yes they are a great source of gathering new
info and meeting new and old business friends..
Bring lots of your business cards.
I have been running an online business dealing in fashion accessories since 9 months. With the business doing good, I wish to expand it to include more diversified products like utility tools to reach a bigger section of people. I am looking for suppliers who are reliable and can supply quality products.
Here are my queries -
Where can I get the supplier information I am looking for? Online and Offline?
How do I make sure they are reliable?
Has anyone tried http://www.whatcouldisell.com for getting supplier info? I received a demo from them.
Please advise. Supplier details of principals appreciated.
