Excellent article. I would add a couple of things though. Where possible, get subdomains with your company name at places where negative posts may likely occur like wordpress.com and blogger.com.
Then make posts that link to your website, social media profiles and business directory listings.
Buy some domains like yourcompanynamesucks.com and just redirect them to positive material. or install wordpress on them and make a post about your company, then link to more about your company. That way it ranks for that term.
