As a small business owner and startup, I don't really know what the market pays for either independent sales reps working from home or in-side sales reps. If the equipment we sell ranges from $2,500 - $30,000+ with an average sale of $15,000 and a 25% vendor discount, how much is reasonable commission structure? I have heard anything from 30-45% gross profit margin going to 1099 sales rep to flat fees. But if in-house sales reps, what is considered a startup salary with x-% commission?
