Hi Jeff you can use social media to expand your reach and you can blog and of course get better ranking in the search engines. Look at www.marketyourbusinessnow.com. You can also get free advice on my blog at Joe's Blog. Just a few ideas. Write me if yu have any additional questions.
If you lived closer to me I would meet with you to discuss some plans but your too far.
I am not sure which area you need the most help in, but I can tell you that a very good friend of mine who also has his own plumbing business started out advertising as an emergency plumber. Many plumbers don't like to wake up in the middle of the night.
Hey Jeff. Do you have a website? If so, send us the link so we can check it out and see what kind of things you're already doing and offer recommendations.
Chris--we apologize that your post was accidentally deleted. I was unable to restore it, but was able to capture the text. If you could kindly repost it, then I will remove this one.

There a lot of things you can do. I also deal with local clients. You need to get good will and a presence in your community. A website for me is just like a phone book. You need to print business cards and pass them out when you to the checker when you buy stuff. Join clubs like lions. Also, if you attend a church let members know about your business. In the beginning you may have to do a lot of discounting to build a customer base for repeat business and referrals. You increase your prices down the road.
