I don't think that there is one "best place" to find information about business in general. What information are you looking for? What type of business are you planning to start.
Always take a look at the source of the information. Make sure the sites are honest and reliable. Know what there motives are. Some good general sources are the small business administration. I have also found entrepreneur.com to have a lot of valuable articles that will help.

Thanks for the reply. I am eager to hear the opinions of others on this topic.
I have done much research on the internet on topics relevant to the independent business owner and am opening up to others so that I may find the BEST information.
I find the SBA site to be helpful with many relevant articles. Many others are self serving, trivial or hopelessly biased. In my opinion, entrepreneur.com is like any other paper based magazine...they are here to sell advertising not to provide direct, helpful advice to real entrepreneurs and independent business owners. They dwell in the sensational, not the practical. The pragmatic concerns of the everyday businessperson is not always newsworthy for these periodicals.
A recent search on diverse topics brought up several articles I consider to be useful and practical:
This is more of the advice that I consider practical, relevant and immediately useful. The SBA site had several articles that were useful but I was seeking diverse sources so did a more general search.
As has already been stated here, the sba, sba.gov. Also go to regional sba sites. The sba is broken into regions. If you live close to a large city of a regional location, you may consider going in person. Also go to S.C.O.R.E. the Senior Corps of Retired Engineers. Another good one is SBDC, that is Small Business Development Centers. There are quite a few across the country. Also try linkedin and join some groups. At linkedin you may need to also filter trough some info, but it is less so than a general search. Good luck SBLD
Great question Trich!
You've gotten some great answers so far. I hope some of our other members will chime in with their thoughts on this.
There is so much information available via a google search that it becomes difficult to separate the useful from the self serving or trivial. For those who seek business information relevant to independent or start up businesses: Do you have any favorites or suggestions on where to find the BEST information? I appreciate any suggestions or responses.
