Great article by Steve and totally agree. Use of the word FREE when incorporated early on during a sales pitch is a great way to break down the barriers because although they don't believe it, they absolutely have to hear you out just in case it is.
FREE is such a GREAT word
Last weekend we went to a garage sale where the posters said "every thing FREE"
and YES everything was FREE.
They gave you a bag and said "Go and take what you want"
I am one who sees 'free' and often wonders if the item/sale/etc. is truly free. We all love a bargain but why are we so jaded when we see a free tag on something? Have we been duped once too often?
How can we assure our customers that we really mean it when we say free? What techniques do you use in your business to ensure trust and allow your customes to enjoy a freebie, from time to time?
Want to take a few minutes and share your tried and true approaches?
I also believe in the power of the word FREE. Everybody likes it. That is why promotional products work well. The usual promotional products like notebooks, pens, mugs, etc. with your name and info printed on it are a good example of that.
I agree longlovemedia, but some people are very skeptical when it comes to the word FREE, they believe that nothing in Life is FREE.
Every Business want's new Customers but they want to keep the old ones too. Here is a great article on how to achieve both.
