Hi Joleen, I have never heard of this but think this is a good concept to support local businesses. However, I am unable to figure out how a service based business will benefit from this idea.
It's the first time I heard of this and I just checked the official Facebook out. It seems a fantastic idea to me. Activities like this always bring large traffic for businesses.I'm just not sure how online businesses could take advantage of this.
Have you all heard about Small Business Saturday? It's been all over the TV with Al Roker as spokesperson for the ad that I saw. Apparently it was started last year.
It's a facebook campaign . You can find the page by putting small business Saturday in the search on your facebook page. What it wants to accomplish is to use the Saturday after Thanksgiving as the day to support you local small businesses while you do holiday shopping.
From their Info on their page:
: Welcome to the official Small Business Saturday Facebook page where small is BIG! Join us and support small business!
Mission: First there was Black Friday, then Cyber Monday. November 27, 2010 was the first ever Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday is the day we celebrate the Shop Small movement to drive shoppers to local merchants across the U.S.
Have you heard about this campaign ? Do you think it's a valid idea? How can you utilize it to market your businesses ? Tell us what you think and share how we can use this to promote our small businesses!
