Talk to YOUR lawyer
Again we must ask you to refrain from posting short (sometimes curt) replies to questions posted in the community. Responses such as “Talk to YOUR lawyer” or “Google the subject” are not helpful, and can make the community seem of little value to new members.
As we’ve said before, ALL small business owners could use a good lawyer, however not everyone can afford one. As you know, some lawyers charge $750 per hour (or much more). Small businesses are simply struggling to survive. To pay the bills and make payroll month after month is a major victory right now, let alone making a decent profit. Any attorney fees that can be avoided through learned knowledge is a huge benefit.
People come here looking for advice and answers to her questions. The goal of this community is to try and help them here (in the community), whenever possible.
Luckiest- As a SCORE representative you have a lot of great business advice to share. Please take the time to share it here in the SBOC when you post.
Thanks in advance for you help and cooperation with this.
SBOC Team, I am sorry that you (sometimes) do not like my answers.
As a SCORE rep and a business person, I am of the STRONG belief that to survive in business today you need all the help you can get.
Every business person should have a business plan, an accountant, a lawyer and maybe an insurance agent on their side.
As I keep saying SCORE is FREE and a business person can find help with ALL 4 of the above FREE and MUCH MORE
Again you can pay your accountant or lawyer NOW, or pay Uncle Sam, the I R S or a legal problem LATER.
Yes people come to this community looking for advice. When they use the word "legal", only a lawyer should answer them.
I do try to cooperate.
Thanks, Luckiest. We appreciate your cooperation.
We agree that SCORE is a great resource and can provide lots of great information and advice. As a SCORE representive, we would appreciate it if you would provide that information and advice here, if you are going to post. Also, I do not see the word "legal" in duffys31's post. Perhaps I missed it.
Regardless, responses such as “Talk to YOUR lawyer” or “Google the subject” are not helpful, and can make the community seem of little value to new members. Please refrain from posting replies such as this.
duffys31- I apologize for taking this discussion off topic from your original question. I promise that this will be the last post on this subject.
SBOC members- Can you please provide some guidance for duffys31’s original question? Thanks in advance!
The SBOC Team
We would like to buy an existing business that we have over 10 years experience in, but we need the full financing for it, however the business is a charter boat, so the boat would be the collateral. We need some help on who to contact. We live in the UK but the boat business is in Europe.
Can anone out there point us in the right direction please?
