Opening an investment management company on H1-B

I am currently employed on an H1-B. I want to start a small investment management fund that basically will generate a percentage return and remit back to the investors. I plan to charge a % of the profits.

Now given my full time job, I am not sure what may be the most optimal way to set this up. I have the option to work with some family here in the US who are citizens, but I do want to be able to take profits from the venture.

Also the other option I have is to get a Canadian immigration, would that be of any help?

      Thanks much!
