Signing Bonuses for Brokers - Beware

    Freemarkets Newbie
Take a look at the"Wall Street Journal" today, 10/11/2010, section C1 for the article titled, "Signing Bonuses Haunt Wall Street". A common practice on Wall Street is to lure "Big" brokers to another firm by paying enormous bonuses. Then if the broker doesn't live up to expectations the firm will want to, and I quote, "squeeze more production out" of this broker. What does that say to you if your broker has moved to a new firm and they are telling him to get more commissions, not good for you!

Please be aware if all of a sudden there is more activity in your account for no apparent reason other than to generate commissions. Has you broker moved to a new firm recently?
