Plus, chiming in to what you said, text messages are opened within 3-5 minutes of them being received and the open rat is above 90%. Pretty good rate compared to open emails open rates, which at best can be 35%.
Part of the reason, I believe is the over saturation of emails.
Unless, you know what you are doing with the email campaigns, the emails will never get read.
The benefits of email marketing are many but the benefits that hold much weight is that you get to market to a targeted audience. With that said, targeted is the key, so you need to develop a targeted list of individuals to market to. There are a number of ways to do this. You can purchase or rent list, but--with a capital "b", you must do your homework and find reputable email list brokers or vendors who are going to provide you with verified opt-in email addresses--double opt-in are better. In fact some marketers do not use anything less than double opt-in emails and only from reputable companies. Double opt-in addresses are basically verified in that a person is asked to opt-in for a newsletter for example, through a web-form of some kind, and when the individual clicks Send, he then receives an email confirming the opt-in... Hence double opt-in, 1 by form, 2 verified by email.
When done correctly, email marketing is certainly a marketing tool, which produces dividends. However, it must be approached with care and caution, learn the ropes and test the waters before you go head first into it. Learn more about it, do your homework, start gradually, and ultimately, build your own list that you can market to in the future. You can always hire an email-marketing firm to do most of the work for you... But again, there are many useless list out there and unfortunately, firms who claim they can do such and such and don't... Prudence, Knowledge & Diligence
One major benefit of email marketing is that it can save you thousands of dollars. Because of email marketing, I have been able to expand my business. I prefer email marketing over text messaging.
I agree. I'm more likely to read an unsolicited email than read a text message. You have to make sure your strategies aren't intrusive, or you won't get the results you need. Thanks for sharing, nicola!
Bay Design...certainly e-mail marketing is still ruling the market- yet- it is a fact that the market is being over-saturated and many prospects are not responding to this way of communication---unless, you have really powerful techniques...now, as far as the texting is concerned- if you keep up with 2010 marketing trends and 2011 marketing predictions- you will see that the mobile phones, and text messages are starting to gain force...so much. that in fact- 75% of marketers, are offering now this service to their clients.
Always need to be ready to get on the train of innovation and change, for continual success in our ventures.
Email marketing is a great opportunity to reach out to millions of people in a matter of seconds. Through opt-in email addresses the response rate is real high, and so the internet allows email marketers great chances for profit, list building, and traffic. But, besides the simplicity of email marketing there are some basics to understand to know that you're going through it in the best way.
Like mentioned, there are great benefits to email marketing, so it makes sense to take time to understand it. There's a few benefits of marketing through email & I will quickly cover them here.
First, the greatest benefit of all is the fast approach of email and the just as fast responses. It is possible to send out your first email and then get orders in the inbox in minutes. Email marketing is pretty much the fastest and amazing out of all marketing methods when you use it correctly.
Marketing emails will usually have to be tested. Testing is a typical part of any kind of marketing. With email marketing the testing is much faster since the process of email marketing is sped up anyways, and so testing various emails will be faster.
When doing email marketing not much money has to be spent. All that is needed is a computer, internet, and time to write an email. Email marketing in general is free although you will have to pay for other things in order to do so.
Response- Another amazing part about email marketing is the ability to get responses in almost light speed; basically minutes. The reason is that the individual on the receiving end will receive the email and then make a decision. They will either delete your email without reading it, delete it after reading some or all, or read it and buy what you're promoting/marketing. And the best part is those that are happy with the product or purchase could forward it to friends or family, thus increasing sales and your customer base.
