    Doing business across state lines

    1000QUESTIONS Wayfarer
I Have a weird question. If I own a deli and its in the state of CT and someone places an order in NY which is just 2 blocks away, is it ok to deliver a food order to another state and if so would I have to charge a different tax rate assuming they are different. Just to clarify I am only licensed and registered to business in CT. (please note the scenario is made-up. I just want to understand the regulations or laws concerning this) Also if there is anything else which may be involved with this type of situation feel free to enlighten me. Thank you...
