Sounds like a blow off. Two suggestions - offer cash - then try to take the power. Tell them that if you and your customers like their stuff - you will come back but if their stuff does not sell well - you will look to their competitors. The idea is to bluff them into thinking that they need you more then you need them.
Also, be persistent - make them sell to you just to get you to stop calling.
Lastly, look at some manaufacturing associations to see if there are other manufacturer or designers that do want to work with you.

what kind of Merchandise are you looking for? Most take CC till you establish credit.. we carried and still have large amounts of stock, in guisippini armani, Swarovski, Hummel, Precious Moments, Harmony Kingdom and many others.. if you care to talk put store stock as subject, to Pocoloca1@aol.com
I am positive there are loop-holes or secrets to getting around this because several boutiques with similar merchandise have opened in my state recently, I am just not sure where to begin. I am frustrated because I have put a hold on everything else (signing the lease for my space and starting my build-out) because I cannot find a way to buy the merchandise wholesale before opening my doors.
Has anyone been through this before? Is there any advice you can give me??
