My husband and I have decided to abandon our fairly lucrative jobs in NYC and relocate to southern NJ to open up a small restaurant. We thought things were going very smoothing as we have a location and a wonderful business plan but have hit a major roadblock as we cannot even get banks to speak with us. We were hoping to get a SBA loan for $100,000. However, every one we've spoken to will either 1) not lend to fund restaurants or 2) not lend to any business not in existence for less than 2 years. How do we go about getting a loan or line of credit? Does anyone have any recommendations for lenders that will lend to us (we have excellent credit) or any other options that might work (personal loan)? Thanks in advance!
