what type of business are you looking to start?
see the promblems with looking online you dnt get all the perks like seeing whatcha your buy depending on what your looking 4 the more people in the area the better 4 the store lets say your looking for grocery then look in ecnomicly deprived areas were the drive is long and you have very lil comption
I recommend if you are trying to buy a local business that you do a search online for "business broker" and include the name of your town and state in the search. You can review their individual sites for the businesses they have listed.
If you don't see a business you're interested in, you may still want to speak with them since many brokers carry "pocket listings" - listings of businesses for sale that owners don't want to market online.
I hope this helps.

I am looking to buy an existing business instead of starting a new one because of costs. Does anyone know the best way to go about doing this? I found this website www.buyabusiness.com and it seems to list a lot of businesses that people are selling. I think it has some pretty good listings.
