I hear people talk about having a "rep" at a large company that they deal with, how do you get in contact with a rep and start doing business with them?
i would do research online about the company. That way you would get the head honchos name. With that you can find who you need to be talking too. With that you would get information on who is in charge of distribution. Find out who the CEO is. and Vice pres1 of 1 people found this helpful

go into a large cigar shop that is out of your area (not one you will compete with), ask who their rep is for whatever line you have an interest in and tell them that your shop is looking at the line and wants to learn more about it. Even though their rep might not cover your area he/she will know who does. You could also look for events sponsored by those companies and go to one to make contact with direct company reps (they usually help pay for those).1 of 1 people found this helpful

We are on the verge of opening our fine cigars business. We have found a distributor where we can get cigars cheaper than retail, however, still not at true wholesale prices. I have tried contacting the large cigar manufactures to carry their products, however, they will not even return an e-mail. How does a new business establish contact with large companies and get a chance to buy their products direct from them, with no middle man? How does the supply chain work? I would appreciate any help, we are getting very frustrated knowing that we are dealing with a middle man when we need to work direct with the manufacturer.
