Can I start a business, domiciled in FL but running in NY?

    csmith Newbie

I am starting an online business and would like to know if it's possible to domicile it at my FL address, but run it from NY where I currently live?
I was also hoping to know how my sales taxes would work in this case? Would I only charge sales taxes to those purchasing from FL? What about other states? And, what about the fact that I am running the business from NY?
I am sorry for my lack of knowledge! I am starting out and just want to gather a max of information before I move too far forward.
      Thanks in advance!

Of course you can dominicile in FL and operate in NY. But you must comply with the laws of both states concerning your sales and income in those states. Consult with a business attorney and CPA in both states before beginning.

If you're on a low-cost budget, you can go to "SCORE.org" and get those specialized opinions from Counselors in each of the states. SCORE is sponsored by the SBA, and counseling services are free.
