      Companies are now looking to rework their value equation, which equals:


      product benefits + service benefits + brand equity


      ÷ price


      When doing this, marketers should make sure their value propositions (i.e. product and/or service benefits):


      1. Closely align to the brand


      2. Support the overall business goals


      3. Are important to the target market(s)


      4. Are believable


      5. Are consistent with other communications


      6. Differentiate the company from the competition
