    How to market antiques?

    teacup Wayfarer

I have a great opportunity to sell authentic and reproduction antiques. However, I have no idea how to market this most effectively, as it's a niche market. Do I go on eBay? Do I take an advertisement out in the local newspaper? Do I reach out to interior designers? Advice and ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How about a game plan or a Marketing Plan.
Do you know the difference between authentic?? and reproduction??
A marketing plan identifies customer demand. Also your market
How your antiques will be advertised and pricing strategies.
Do you know the price you want to sell for??

I think you would make the most money if you don't limit yourself to local sales. For that reason, I would set up a website and sell on ebay. Locally, you will only be able to find so many clients and newspaper ads aren't cheap.

Can you sell the antiques in a physical location? Do you own a store? I've purchased Chinese antiques before and needed to go into a store and see it myself. All of the items should be well marked, with origin information, etc. Buyers like to know how old it is, where it came from, etc. Maybe if it's reproduction or at a lower cost point may it work on eBay, or maybe even Craigslist?
