    Inventory Booking In Quickbooks

      Help, my company manufactures products so in the item list I have all my products. My problem is Im trying to book product that Ive given away for donations and samples and am stumped. Im trying to decrease my inventory for this prodcut while at the same time putting a expense under Charities/Donations. I cant set it up right, It seems the only way to decrease inventory is to set up a customer names Donations and then I can put the amount and choose my item so the inventory decreases but then it doesnt show up under the expense account. We want to be able to account for inventory while monthly getting a list and amounts given away to charities. Do two entries need to be made? Any help would be appreciated.
