    HSA and payroll taxes question

    Bridge Navigator
I own a LLC (S corp tax elections).

My business pays me wages and passes through income to my personal return.

      My questions are:

      1) Am I better off making HSA contributions to my "employee" (me) through my business as an expense or paying them personally?

      2) If I pay through my business, do I need to report it on the W-2 (no box 1)

      3) If I have to report it on the W-2, do I need to pay payroll taxes on this amount?

In short, can I avoid payroll taxes by either paying through my business or passing the income to my personal return and paying personally.
