Aviva is a good directory--- the price is less than BOTW.
You also have to have a well-written listing and a great site--
else the directory listing won't do you much.
Also, botw.org, for comparison is $250 for a listing--- steep, but can be worth it in some circumstances.
You can look at the Google PageRank for the area that you'd be listed in to see how much Google juice is passed.
There are many other free directories, so you should start with those first.
One of the main things I love about Aviva is that the owners, Jeff and Aviva Behrendt are really great people to do business with. They are very down to earth and have a lot of integrity as well as business acumen.
This is correct, Jeff and Aviva did a great job on Avivadirectory.com. They have more then one directory but this one is pretty popular. What I really like about these directories owner by Jeff and Aviva, their work is clean, relevant and great for SEO, I whish to see more directories like that.
I hope they are doing well, if you are in contact with them, say hello from Natural Elements ;-)
I see aviva upgraded permanent listing pricing is now $149.95.

Directory submission plays a huge part in the SEO process. If you submit to quality, human edited directories.. you get a valuable backlink and users will visit your site. Aviva is a great directory and only charges $49.95 per year for a regular listing and $79.95 per year for a featured listing. Remember you are not paying for the link to be listed.. you are actually paying for a thorough review of your site. Make sure your site meets the criteria so it will be accepted.
