Re: how do you book your travel......would you look at my site and compare?

travlguy,
I personally feel that credentials are the most important factors when choosing a "travel agent."
My fear is paying a lot of money and then not having the end product delivered upon.
Would I use your site to compare prices? Sure. Nothing is lost by just comparing prices.
As you enter into this business, put yourself in the place of the consumer.
You too would be very protective of your money, your family, and your time.

DomainDiva Dec 24, 2007 10:10 AM (in response to travlguy)I use the DomainDiva free-for-all system....that is I compare prices on Travelocity, TravelZoo, Hotels, Com, AA.Com, Cheap Tickets, Priceline and several others. The one with the best price that meets my schedule gets the business. Often I book car, hotel and airfare at different sites to get the best rates if no 'package' is available. (For business travel this is RARE...). -
Re: how do you book your travel......would you look at my site and compare?
DomainDiva Dec 24, 2007 10:15 AM (in response to travlguy)I checked out your site, this is a multi level marketing travel site. There was nothing there for the business traveler. As a matter of fact..the home page is devoted only to the 'business opportunity' not to the actual product. When I went to the book travel tab, the next page was nothing but vacation destinations, cruises. As I said, nothing for the business traveler. Since I have not taken a vacation is 15 years I am not sure that this site would benefit me.-

LUCKIEST Dec 24, 2007 10:36 AM (in response to travlguy)Travl, Good question. The travel industry is changing. I would look for reliability.
It is both important to give someone just starting out a shot, as well if it indeed saves money (over the long run).
Good luck, LUCKIEST-

CorpCons08 Dec 24, 2007 10:44 AM (in response to LUCKIEST)I agree that it is very important to give new entrepreneurs a shot, I hope I didn't come off any other way...
I have trips coming up in early 2008 and I will check out this site for options.

Hope this helps, LUCKIEST
the lowest airfare from Point A to Point B can be a ridiculously
frustrating experience, especially if in mid-flight you discover your
neighbor paid a third what you did. The way airlines work, failing to get
the best fare happens more often than you would like to believe.UNDERSTAND HOW AIRLINES SET THEIR PRICES IN THE FIRST PLACEAirline
pricing is a complex, unpredictable beast driven by three ugly words:
competition, demand, and inventory. Airlines call it "yield
management," How can any rational person explain why a one-way flight is
just as expensive as a round-trip ticket? Or why the o, you must know the forces at work.
All
major airlines feed their available seats and prices into four central
reservation systems that are owned by various airlines. . Airlines then change their prices based on demand. If a
certain flight is selling well, the price will increase. If another
flight has no takers, the fare will drop until the airline gets some.
As a result, fares and inventory are changing every minute. -

My immediate first impression was that this is an RTA MLM. The site's main focus is to signing up other RTAs, not booking travel. According to YTB Travel, they have more than 19,000 RTAs operating sites like this (and they are only one of several RTA MLMs). My thought is that about seven levels of commissions are being paid through this structure, so I can probably find better prices by going directly to the same sources YTB uses.
To answer the other questions, we book business travel ourselves (and take full advantage of discounts from airlines, hotels, and rental care firm -- and use their rewards programs). I generally have to know exactly where I'm staying well in advance, if possible (because I have to ship materials there). I always prefer to work with travel industry companies that have someone who knows me -- someone I can call directly in case of a problem, and who will take care of that problem fast. RTAs just aren't in the position to do that.
I do wish you the best with your new business.
