Hi, Tell us more. You are in the Accounting business.
Everybody in business should have both an Accountant and a Lawyer.
Good Luck, LUCKIEST
Hi Albrecht - So, I practiced small business law for many years. Generally speaking, what I would tell you is that you can indeed form one legal entity for the two online businesses. I would suggest either an LLC or an S corporation.
The reason you do not want to form two entities is that it would be, essentially, twice the cost and twice the work.
Instead, you can form one entity, something like "Myers Ventures, LLC" and then file a dba (doing business as, otherwise known as a fictitious business name) for each.
Hope that helps!
I am currently have two businesses that I am forming. My question to anyone that can help is this. Can I form one legal entity and then branch both businesses off that one entity or do I have to create two separate entities? The two businesses are one an online Ebay boutique and the second an online Tea Business.
