Welcome to our community, adamjane. It is great that you have jumped right in with a question. And an Interesting one, too. With drop shipping becoming more and more popular, I am sure this concept has its positive and negative reviews. What about it, community members - won't you share your thoughts and comments about this?
In the meantime, please go to Introduce Yourself and tell us a little about yourself and your business? Have you been using a drop-shipping company or just thinking about using one?
Thanks Cath, I am new to DropShipping, I just had some researches and I found both positive and negative thoughts about it, I am not sure to start and invest money, I had some webinars and they all persuades me to go for drop shipping but still looking for some real ideas about it.
Welcome, adamjane. This is an interesting question. With the increase in the number of people selling online these days, drop shipping is increasingly popular. You might want to research vendors by reading reviews of the products you know use this option for fulfillment. If customers consistently complain about delayed orders, product quality, or other issues, cross that vendor off your list.
I hope this helps, and that some of our other members will have suggestions to offer.
My husband has had his share of experience in this area. From what i gather it has the probability of becoming profitable but usually only if you're able to do a large volume of sales. The biggest advantage of the drop-shipping business model is that you don't pay for the item unless it sells for what you need to get.
However, i would try to be cautious of the sites that ask for a membership fee before you're able to see the product and prices available.
Good luck and please let us know how it goes!
Good advice, Susan! Just as a customer wouldn't pay for a product from a store before seeing it or knowing the price, the same holds ttrue for any sites promising large returns for small investments. First of all, adamjane , you'll want to make sure that you are dealing with reliable suppliers. You'll also want to design a user-friendly website, and select products that are popular with a wide range of customers.
Are you currently active on E-Bay or any other selling site? Most sites have discussion areas, where you could hopefully get honest opinions from other sellers who have used the drop-seller(s) you are interested in. You might also ask some sellers locally if they use a drop-shipper. A good venue to do this might be a flea market, or a trade show.
Hopefully, some of our other members have used drop-shippers in the past, and can provide some more guidance.
Please let us know how things are going, and ask any question that you may have.
I am accustomed to work with customers doing business on Amazon. Most of them use FBA (Fulfilment By Amazon). We talk about this new trend which is to drop ship products but it's not the best logistic solution for them.
If you are starting your business it may be a safe way to do it, but it will be difficult to compete against other sellers on Amazon or Ebay, your price will be higher, and you'll meet difficulties to become the best seller of your category.
I recommend you to start your dropshipping business with a website, a blog or a facebook page. It would be better for you to find a niche market, to advertise your products and to keep in touch with your customers to develop your network.
I never heard about the names you mentionned. Most people doing dropshipping use Aliexpress. You'll not find a better place to find products. People might say "you can't trust chinese retailers" but they are not aware of the policies on Aliexpress. Most retailers are betting their business on it. It cost lot of money and one mistake could ban them forever from Aliexpress, which will mean the end of their business as well. It's a little like Amazon policies.
- I want to ask if they are good and which one should I go for?
- I also want to know if they worth investing or not, and how much probably someone earns by using them?
- are they legitimate, I mean if I use them with amazon or eBay do I get banned or no?
- How to avoid Sacammers is there any strategy?
On the research I found some providers claiming that they are providing the items in really low price, you can see the screenshots, are they real or not?
I cant post images probably but as it says the prices were like buy on $50 and sale on $200, I am really interested if it works like this.
