Cloud point of sale systems?

Does anyone here use a cloud point of sale system? I spent $2,000 on my last pos system but a friend of mine showed me a company called vendhq.com. After doing a little reasearch i have found vendhq.com, merchantos.com and evendra.com.

Right now im leaning tword either vendhq.com or evendra.com. evendra allows you to create as many registers as you need for one price and vend works offline. I like the features of evendra more, but im not sure. Anyone use any of these 3?

Thank you,

Jason

Good morning Jion. I really don't know what kind of sophistication  you are looking for or expecting from a cloud POS. In reality, if you are expecting any cloud solution to match the functinality of a non-cloud solution, I think your expectations may be a little unrealistic.  I'm not familiar with VenHQ, but from what I know about Evandra, they are a quite goodt (not exceptional) rather pricey Virtual Terminal (VT) app linked to their own proprietary merchant account.  And as we have preached for years, 99% of merchants who get themselves into proprietary situations soon realize they have made a very costly mistake.  Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Evandra per se--I've never heard anything negative about the functionality of the Evandra system, and am of the opinion that they do a pretty good job of doing what they do, which is to provide a VT solution.  It's just that if you want a VT, there are lots of other much better priced VT solutions out there that offer the significant benefit of NOT being linked to a proprietary merchant account.  As far as ePN goes,  there are a number of optional plug-ins available that allow the merchant to do lots of things, including inventory management and so on.  In fact, the beauty of the ePN program is that it allows the merchant to pay for only what he/she wants, and not have to pay for lots of buttons and whistles they neither want nor will ever use.  That's just my educated opinion, having been in the business of marketing POS devices for many years.

What can a non cloud solution do that Evendra or Vend can not? Based on what i have read up on, it seems like these cloud POS systems can do many thing non cloud systems cant... For example, the main reason I am leaning towards evendra is the fact that I can have a built in rewards program that is similar to BestBuys. And its included. I also can processes gift card transactions at no extra charge like all of the other vendors want to charge for.

Also with evendra and vend, you can use your own merchant account, I have verified this with both of them as well as merchantos.

I need to make a purchase soon, Does anyone beside this guy who is obviously a sales guy for epn have anyhting to add?

Very nice Jion.  You ask a question, receive an answer, then demean me as "a sales guy for epn" and make nonsensical arguements about my response.  Question:  If you already know all the information, have all the answers, and have obviously already made up your mind on Evandra or whatever, then why waste the time of others asking for advise you neither need nor want?  FYI, I am semi-retired, having dealt with dozens of different payment processing solutions (both cloud and VTs,  which are two totally different animals),  not just ePN, for many years.   I therefore consider myself to be fairly knowledgable on the subject of POS systems and, in an effort to be helpful, suggested the one I thought best met your needs based on the info you supplied, which happened to be ePN.  Or perhaps you'd feel better getting your POS recommendtions from another source who, much like yourself, knows absolutely nothing about the subject?

You have a habit of spouting off nonsensical statements with absolutely zero basis in fact. I have I guess hundreds of posts on this forum over the past several years on a variety of different subjects having to do with my areas of expertise (in excess of 4500 points).  I've made reference to ePN when appropriate HOW many times???  I would guess fewer than maybe 3 or 4.  PLEASE leave me alone, sorry I tried to help.
