Having a great product, but no sales

Hi everyone, I have tried Facebook, Twitter, linkedin, and even YouTube and no luck with online sales. I sell hair systems for people dealing with hair loss, like cancer patients or people who have a form of alopecia, and I also sell other various types of hair extensions and wigs. Here is the thing, my local clients love my products, however the website is bringing in a bunch of Nothing... What can I possibly do in order to increase traffic and revenue? Please help because I truly believe in my products and love helping others feel "whole" again.

When you say you have tried Facebook and the rest, how did you try them?

Something that I would suggest you try is find support forums for the people your product caters to.  Starting joining in the discussions and helping people with various problems.  Don't go pushing your product though, just have the website in a link in your signature.

    Good luck!

    Hi Sheneil,

At the very least I would purchase a domain name that includes the search terms customers type in when looking to buy your product. If you were searching for a product such as what you offer, what exact words would you type into Google?

Having designed and operated many websites, I can tell you that having your domain name match or come close to the exact terms customers search for is key to being found on the first page on Google and Bing.

If your niche is not very competitive, this alone will go a very long way in your website being on the first page.

For instance, you could obtain the domain name hairextensionsforcancerpatients dot com and likely rank high when customers search for that term.

    Best wishes with your business,

    Joe

Have you tried Email Marketing yet? Sometimes people may just need a push. Use SNS and forums to find out what are people really looking for, and emails to TELL them where to get it.

i wonder the scale of your hair systems, if you could, you can  make a detailed market research to identify the aimed buyers and exact sales region, and  expend business on search engine through advertisements, SEM.

Also you can make full use of the other countrys' native forums and b2b platforms.

You'd better set a brand of your hairs and wigs.

according to your products, I think more pressure and more polluted regions have more aimed buyers or potential customers, such as developing countries and disphoric cities.

because the people lives in there have more chances to get alopecia.

    Wish you success

    Gavin

One method that we have used to raise awareness of what we are doing is to author articles about a particular problem. Sites like EzineArtciles.com enable you to submit original articles and you can have a link back to your site in the "author information" box. You could also reach out to a variety of speciality blogs and ask them to do a review of your product. Is this an original product unique to you or are you reselling for a manufacturer? Depending on your exact situation there are a lot of methods to raise awareness of what you are doing. I would have thought that reaching out to organizations that are focused on treating/managing one of the specific diseases would be happy to promote your product if it creates value for their community.

There was an answer to the question here, but I guess since I offered a free consultation and my phone number, the moderator removed it. Could have left the helpful post and removed the phone number, but oh well.

    HI,

How about reaching out to cancer care facilities within your county or state by sending several note cards with inspirational messages and include a coupon for a discount on one or several of your products. And, of course, include your website site name on the card and coupon.

You might also try reaching out to Senior Centers, Wounded Warriors facilities, etc.

    Good Luck and Good Selling!

    Sheneil,

I was trying to help you with sharing my personal experiences, because I am running my own webstore and trying to gain some online customers as well.

But my post has been deleted, dont know the reason, there is no explanation. I am not marketing company, I am doing business in fashion, all I wanted was to share experiences. What is this forum about if your advices are being deleted? Anyway, wish you good luck.

    Hi Sheneil,

Your product sounds great and I agree with a lot of the feedback you've been getting.  One thing many small business owners don't realize is that they go online and think their website can reach a national market without an internet marketing strategy.  It takes a lot to reach a national market, usually a lot of seo work, that many small business owners don't have the budget for.  I suggest focusing on reaching more of your local market.

You first need your website analyzed to see if your on-site seo has been optimized.  I offer this to companies for free so they can see where their website stands.  What happens with a lot of social media strategies is that business owners think they're marketing, but they're actually spamming people so no one is paying attention to their messages.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

I would take a step back and make sure you are positioining yourself correctly in your market place.  Sometimes the biggest reason people don't drive traffic to their website or make the sales, is because their message is lacking.  Once, you define your message you can position yourself in front of the correct target market.  The next step would be in finding your true voice amongst your audience to make social media work for you.
