Looking for Steve's article.
It does not appear on my computer.
My apologies, Luckiest ... The article apparently wasn't quite ready to go live yet when I posted the discussion topic! I guess I was just ahead of myself yesterday! It should be working now! Please do give it a read if you haven't already and let us know your thoughts!
All the best!
Yes it is working now.
New Year Resulations:
My primary goal for 2012 is to keep my business running with passion and success of prior years,
update my business plan, hire a few more sales people and go greener.
Personally, I want to support a healthier food menu, enjoy yoga, play more tennis and unplug.
I think that a lot of businesses are looking towards trying to be a little greener in the new year! I think that is an awesome idea for businesses as well as individuals. After all, we only have one planet, right?
It's also great that you are in a position to open up some new employment opportunities. The economy may be recovering slowly but that is so much better than not at all. If each business were able to open even just one or two new jobs this year, it would definitely impact the unemployment rate in a good way! I am holding high hopes that 2012 sees people who have been struggling and unemployed finally getting back on their feet and being able to once more feel a sense of pride.
I'm hoping to hear from the rest of our regulars soon. Here's hoping they aren't too busy with their first-of-the-year tax prep, updates and adjustments to stop by and say "Hello"!
Additional New Years Resolutions:
My dreams are my plans. I want to live them.
Take only the actions that is true for me.
Live within my means.
Keep the promises and new years resolutions I made to myself.
New Years Resolutions for my business. I was waiting to see how long it took someone to post this topic on here.
I plan on taking my consulting firm to new levels this year. This includes finishing the local acquisition of a information technology consulting and professional service company, and our expansion into new markets, including international markets.
We are already a green company, having a close personal friend come in and change a lot of our processes to make us an energy conscious company.
Personally, I don't know, maybe 10-15lbs. :)
Learn something new
Spend more time with family
I broke down and resolved to attempt to live a more peaceful and harmonious life. We'll see how that goes!
I hope everyone is having much success with their resolutions; both personal and professional!
You are a business owner, no? You have to have some level of stress right? lol.
Since I have been in school for the past six years and finally finished! This is somewhat difficult as my life was surrounded by term papers and books for so long.
Spend more time with Family
Take more risks
Eat healthy ( gluten free )
Watch less TV read more
Drink less coffee
Think positive all the time
Hello SBOC Community and welcome to 2012! It is a bright, brand -spanking-new year and I'm happy to be here in it with all of you! I wanted to start a very common discussion today but when I logged in today and saw the new Steve Strauss article 6 New Year’s Business Resolutions, my common discussion topic was given a new twist. No, it wasn't lemon or lime ... but a little something I like to call "innovation".
I personally gave up new years resolutions several years ago. In a last ditch effort to stop being a failure at keeping my new years resolutions, I resolved to simply not make any more resolutions. Problem solved! That was one resolution I have actually kept for about 7 years now! This year, I almost had the urge to begin blogging every day for the entire year but the flu bug that hit me new years even and took me out for 36 hours quickly killed that urge, so I continue my winning streak with my resolution to not make resolutions.
However, because of my lack of desire to make personal resolutions, it never really crossed my mind to make resolutions for my business. Making a new years resolution is really no different than setting new goals. Reviewing your business, updating it and adapting to accommodate new trends and changes should be something you are doing the beginning of each year anyway so making business resolutions can easily be a part of that process without causing much disruption or leaving much, if any, room for failure. Business resolutions should be much easier to implement, execute and maintain than our own personal resolutions.
So please visit Steve's first community article of 2012! Give it a read and maybe even leave him a comment! After all, he does take time out of his busy schedule to provide us with great tips and advice so let's take a moment to say thanks and show some love, shall we?
Then pop back over here and let's talk resolutions! Personal, business, family ... whatever your resolution, share them with us and maybe together we can provide the support and camaraderie to help each other be successful and prosperous in 2012!
Happy New Year everyone and may 2012 be our year to shine!
