The Value of Making Great Customer Service a 2 Way Street

Version 3

Question: What is the name of your business?
    Your Answer: Brand24

Question: Where is your business located (city & state)?  Who are the customers you serve?  What products or services does you company provide?

    Your Answer:

                New York, NY

      1. Companies focused on protecting their brand and building awareness around their products and services. We empower them to spend less time growing their online footprint in a positive way, and more time focusing on what generates their income.
      2. One-stop-shop brand building, maintenance and protection for businesses on the web.

Question: When did you start your business? Why did you decide to start your own business?
    Your Answer:

Our business launched in October of 2014.

      1. After working as an executive with a company that had constant issues maintaining its reputation on social media, review sites and its own site, I knew there had to be a better way for brands to take care of their image online. My goal was to implement the same strategies I used to save our brand, and help small businesses around the world up their game. I knew that building my own brand, to help other brands, was the best way to take care of my family over the long-term.

Question: Did you quit your "day job" to start your business?  How did you initially fund your business?
    Your Answer:

Yes, I walked away from my job after saving a large portion of my salary for a number of years. Once I knew this was what I wanted to do, I built a strategy to raise the capital for launching and once I hit my savings goal, I tendered my resignation.

Question: What has been the biggest challenge in running your company?
    Your Answer:

The biggest challenge I experienced was finding a team that was as passionate about corporate branding as I am. I definitely learned quickly that passion couldn't be taught. So I upped my recruitment game and built the dream team that we have today.

Question: What’s been the biggest opportunity that came from owning your business?
    Your Answer:

The biggest opportunity for me was personal growth. Having a regular day job allowed me to slack off and only put in as much as I needed to keep my employer happy. As a result of building my own company, I grew into the challenge and now feel I can self-manage myself, while having a positive impact on the people around me.

Question: What has surprised you most about being your own boss?
    Your Answer:

I've been shocked to see how much of a return-on-investment you get in every aspect of your life by bettering yourself and stretching beyond your comfort zone. Today I am proud of the person I've become, and I know my family is better financially for my efforts.

Question: Is there a success tactic you’d like to share that could help other business owners (i.e. implementing new software, tactic to grow sales, etc.)?
    Your Answer:

Recruit the best people possible for your company. Don't be afraid to terminate people that don't have the same fire and passion for what your company does. Save your energy and time for the people that are willing to make the personal effort to step up to the plate. When customers interact with associates that love what they do, it's hard for them not to close the sale and begin working with your team.

Question: What’s the best piece of advice you could give to other small business owners?
    Your Answer:

Don't be afraid to get out there and make positive differences in your life. If you have problems, you have to work towards the solutions. That may sound simple, but so many people ignore problems or run away from challenges. Don't expect perfection. Instead just strive to make every day better than your last. Give yourself the grace to fail and the courage to try harder than you ever thought possible.
