    Your Answer:  Eagle Cleaners



    Question: Where is your business located (city & state)?  Who are the customers you serve?  What products or services does you company provide?

    Your Answer: Clarks Summit, PA.  We serve mostly professional, college educated family households with upper middle to high income.  We are a full service dry cleaner and laundry facility.  We clean a wide range of clothing, household, leather and suede.  We provide wedding gown preservation also.



    Question: When did you start your business? Why did you decide to start your own business?
    Your Answer: January 2013.  My wife Kathy and I bought the business from my parents.  We wanted to set our own course in life.



    Question: Did you quit your "day job" to start your business?  How did you initially fund your business?
    Your Answer:  I worked for my parents since 2000 as plant manager, before that I was a paramedic for a local hospital.  My wife was a nurse and retired to help run the business.



    Question: What has been the biggest challenge in running your company?
    Your Answer: Employee retention.



    Question: What’s been the biggest opportunity that came from owning your business?
    Your Answer: Meeting great people in our customers



    Question: What has surprised you most about being your own boss?
    Your Answer:  The extra hours involved in keeping the business running, but the satisfaction of making the business successful.



    Question: Is there a success tactic you’d like to share that could help other business owners (i.e. implementing new software, tactic to grow sales, etc.)?
    Your Answer: Customer Service, customer service, customer service!  We also aggressively market to our customer demographic through our website: www.eaglecleanerspa.com , social media, print media and billboards and direct mail.



    Question: What’s the best piece of advice you could give to other small business owners?
    Your Answer: Customer Service, customer service, customer service!
