    Question: What is the name of your business?
    Your Answer: DNF Technologies Centers



    Question: Where is your business located (city & state)?  Who are the customers you serve?  What products or services does you company provide?

    Your Answer: Currently in Abilene Texas and Tuscola Texas. As for products.. wow, we are a full service technology service field service and consulting and sub contracting company. Anything and Everything Technical - we can usually handle it and have since 1980 I( the owner) and highly trained by the military and many schools and companies/manufacturer's on a plethora of technical equipment. I have many many years experience and the tools and knowledge and integrity to stick with the job until it is done right the first time...



    Question: When did you start your business? Why did you decide to start your own business?
    Your Answer: I started my First business in New Jersey in 1970 Because people asked me to. I was only 17. A company asked me to set up a distribution system for them on the east coast of the united states; eight months later I had an overflowing bank account and several more clients.... A year later I made my first million...



    Question: Did you quit your "day job" to start your business?  How did you initially fund your business?
    Your Answer: I served in the military from 1970-1972 then from 1973-1997 then retired and went on as an "independent contractor" for the government while still owning and operating my other companies since 1970.... I also worked many part time jobs for Friends businesses when they asked me for help.... Many of my Friends own their own businesses or companies as well... It's a thing.... I funded all my companies with CASH I made from my clients. my average hourly fees where 50-100.00 an hour for consulting and 35-75 an hour for labor... My computer manufacturing company was funded by money I had left over from perdium checks I made from my Air-force Aviator Job. I usually made my own food on trips and spent very little so I had a lot left after expenses where paid... I also purchased chips in Japan wholesale....



    Question: What has been the biggest challenge in running your company?
    Your Answer: Adapting what we do to the ever changing technology and the  economy. Finding motivated, reliable technicians....



    Question: What’s been the biggest opportunity that came from owning your business?
    Your Answer: learning so much high tech, meeting so many Awesome people all over the world. being able to set my own hours, make all my children s/ grand children's  events and take vacation whenever and wherever I want...



    Question: What has surprised you most about being your own boss?
    Your Answer: How easy it is, and how lazy civilians are. So many young people want to get paid to do nothing....



    Question: Is there a success tactic you’d like to share that could help other business owners (i.e. implementing new software, tactic to grow sales, etc.)?
    Your Answer: Get to bed early, get up early, pay attention to whats new, listen and pay attention to EVERYTHING your clients do, not say... They say what they want you to hear, their actions tell you the truth... Keep an eye on your employees....



    Question: What’s the best piece of advice you could give to other small business owners?
    Your Answer:  don't base your annual projection and purchases on your first 90-120 days of sales.... people are fickle... remain flexible and never project over 60 days at a time until you've been successfully opened and in the green for at least three years...
