Question: What is the name of your business?
Your Answer: Officially it is Rossini Management Systems, Inc but I also go by Rossini.com
Question: Where is your business located (city & state)? Who are the customers you serve? What products or services does you company provide?
Your Answer: We are located in Bucyrus, Kansas we serve small to medium sized business of all types. My company which is 19 years old offers, web pages, hosting, support, databases and web marketing.
Question: When did you start your business? Why did you decide to start your own business?
Your Answer: May 1994 I saw the Internet coming on strong and created my company to be a part of it.
Question: Did you quit your "day job" to start your business? How did you initially fund your business?
Your Answer: Yes i did leave a lucrative corporate position to start Rossini.com and I self funded my start up.
Question: What has been the biggest challenge in running your company?
Your Answer: To continue to find new customers and to compete against the free offering companies that are out there. We have a tremendous amount of experience from creation to marketing and trying to express that to a potential client is a tough job.
Question: What’s been the biggest opportunity that came from owning your business?
Your Answer: Freedom to run a business and call the shots. I work harder now than before but it is at my pace and the rewards are for myself and my wife and it makes you work even harder.
Question: What has surprised you most about being your own boss?
Your Answer: The time taken away form the actual sales and creation on projects. Yu are constantly pulled away for many little things and big things such as buying supplies to doing accounting.
Question: Is there a success tactic you’d like to share that could help other business owners (i.e. implementing new software, tactic to grow sales, etc.)?
Your Answer: Yes have and keep an updated web site that the search engines like. Make sure you use social media and also do a blog. It takes a lot of things to make your business grow.
Question: What’s the best piece of advice you could give to other small business owners?
Your Answer: Never give up, keep trying, it is not a sprint but a slow slugging pace. Remember George Brett a hall of fame memeber missed 70% of the time while at bat but look where he ended up.
