Looking for retailers to carry products

I have been trying for several years now to find places to carry my products. I have had a little luck with local wineries, but with the slow-down of the economy, even that has fizzled. I have great products and can boast they are entirely hand made and all natural. Anyone looking for great smelling candes and bath & body products for a shop? I need an outlet!

have you tried ebay? Also, if you don't have one yet, you can setup a website and start an affiliate and/or dropship program and let other people sell your items for you

I'm actually looking for storefronts to carry products - not ebay. I am working on a website with an online store of my own, but for now would like to see products in customer's sights when they go shopping.

Scentlady, I sell my products with over 350 retail stores and several websites as well. The best way that I found to get my products out in the market is to attend wholesale trade shows. You can meet hundreds of people who own stores and websites. They can be expensive but if you have a good product and salesmanship it can pay off. I just got back from the Atlanta Gift Show this month and it was successful for me.

here are my personal thought on ebay...the only folks making money on ebay is ebay...there's 20,000 items in the same categry being offered...their categories are not easily defined...and i don't like them...and they don't like me. so we're even

I have been using ebay for several years, when I want something it's one of the first places I look for several reasons (Amazon 2nd) - you get seller feedback, many items are available for insurance coverage and I like the convenience of paypal. I purchased a razor cell phone on ebay several years back and then purchased insurance coverage from squaretrade. The phone had 'issues' - Matorola wouldn't service it but I sent it to squaretrade and they refunded all my money - I then purchased a pay as you go phone.

I don't know how much ebay charges for those $.01 classified ads -- that could potentially be cheap advertisement with a link to an outside website.

I'm glad you've found happiness at ebay....I had several items I was considering putting up for sale but the people there snickered and doubted it's authenticity...when in reality they just couldn't afford it.

glad to know you can get items. Just this morning I was thinking I would need to find a dealer about ordering dinnerware and flatware if I get to that point. I will be happy to see if you can provide these items at a competiive price. thanks..

Scentlady, I know for a fact that companies like Wal-Mart or Costco wont do business with its suppliers unless they have a D&B credit profile. Go to www.businessformationgroup.com for more information. Hope that helps.

I do have photos of what I carry. For now, I have everything posted on my Facebook account and am targeting people I know. I had thought about creating a "group" to see what happened there, but didn't know if I could. If you'd like to see them, send me your email address.

I truly do not want to do business with Wal-Mart or CostCo at this point. Someday I'd love to know I was big enough to charge as little as they want for their items, but unfortunately, I don't think I'd ever be competitive because I refuse to sacrifice quality.

PS, I did a D&B a couple of years ago. We are so small, it wasn't really necessary.

I know I want to, at some point in time, carry a few gift items at my restaurant if I can get it up and going. I think it would be a good idea to have a forum here with wholesale products and services offered by the members. It could be setup as categories, i.e., bath and body, gift baskets, chocolates, beauty, dinnerware, linens, etc. If a member is a producer and/or importer of certain items or has the ability to order and sale at wholesale prices, it would help the buyer and the seller. Just my thoughts.
