Hello. I have a question and I am really not trying to be funny.
My employer recently shared this smallbusiness online community web site with us and during the week because I have my own side-business as a jewelry designer, with a web site, I took a peek as a small business owner. I think many different people ask some great questions and many people offer some great advise. And I am learning some new thngs and feeling part of the small business community.
But, here is my question. It seems as I participated this week in some forum topics that eventually many people wanted to know what my web site link was. I am really shy about this because I've always been told to safeguard your private information. I am afraid that once you put your link out here, vultures will prey on it and start calling and emailing you to sell a product or service. I can't even begin to tell you how much SPAM I already get in my emails and the annoying calls that are not related to my jewelry and client orders.
Is it o.k. to feel like I do? Am I being silly? I would love to gain new business and exposure for sure but not at the expense of going public here and then some jump on the opportunity to get in your business affairs and try to offer to upgrade your web site and sell you advertising and harshly critique.
Stumped about which way to go.....
