We have one employee and have been using a payroll company for five years now. We used to have 3 employees.. Would it be alot less expensive to pay him ourselves? What is involved and where to start?

Just use the Bank of America online payroll service. If the employee account and biz accounts are B of A account, there is a free program for you. Can't get more cost effetive than that. They figure you taxes, witihholdings etc automatically, no need to pay $175 or so yearly to Intuit or anybody else. It's a great deal if you do your biz banking with B of A.
