Seeking advice about a new business concept

Hi Everyone,

I recently started a website: www.ideaarchitectsonline.com. The idea behind the site is you get paid for submitting novel business ideas. We pay $50 - $2,000 for a quality new business idea. Since I am new it is hard to get people to come to the site and submit ideas.

Question for the community: How do I develop a small fan base of people that are interested in submitting new, quality ideas on the site? I appreciate your support and await feedback. Thank you.

Best Regards,

Jeff

Hi jfrutkin,

I've had the pleasure of reviewing your website and I'm impressed with its concept. I must come to understand one important aspect however. Do you expect true innovators, entreprenuers, visionaires to literally give away potential lucrative ideas for $50 - $2,000. Are you targeting indiviuals that would perhaps do this for a
hobby? Who would possibly take these ideas and season them for commercialization or does this even exist in your model? If so, there should be a more lucrative incentive to the innovator if concept is picked up by say party (A). I have an innovative business concept that is currently under development and as an entreprenuer would never expose a vision.

True entreprenuers don't giveaway innovation we live for it.

Just a sencere thought, hope this helps support your vision

I completely agree with Partnership and while the concept looks great, my first reaction immediately was a concern over exposing business visions that would some day be taken and commercialized with no real incentive plan in place.

Just some feedback that could help your idea grow! Best wishes!

Partnership,

Thanks for the reply. As you mentioned, I am targeting individuals who would do this as a hobby and/or have multiple ideas. As an entrepreneur myself, I would not expect someone to give up their #1 idea, but perhaps they may have other ideas that they don't plan on implementing and are interested in earning a little extra money.

Forgot to mention that after I get the ideas, I will screen and polish them, and then offer them back to aspiring entrepreneurs who are looking for a new business to start. The goal is to bring together people who have ideas (and don't want to execute them) with people that want to start a business, but do not have an idea to start.

Best,

Jeff

Ok Jeff,

This is good. Are you chargng a fee to aspiring entreprenuers for using the ideas for commercialization or is this free? You nee to cover your associated cost of screening and polishng them.

When you find a viable model submitted by an inventor and thus it moves forward, it should be promoted on your site as well as the other site mentioned. This

woud of course show that your concept works. "New business model picked up by entreprenuer and in early stages of development" or "X company captures new
business idea"

Partnership,

Thanks again for your thoughts. I do own the Smarterleap.com site, although it is still in the process of being developed.

Based on everyone's feedback, I am going to clarify / modify some of the text on the site. Thank you!!!

I like your concept. You may want to consider doing a contest whereby the community can choose which are the best ideas by voting and collaborating on them. My company provided an idea portal that Cisco used to do just that. They called it iPrize - www.cisco.com/iprize. If you want to have a short discussion around it, please send me a note. ptran@brightidea.com.
