Bad business idea if you plan on doing business with that store again. They know whos on the return items list.

Not only that, but they make nice marks about business owners on credit files if they abuse it.
I still think the best method is for you to build up stong personal credit and the business credit will come.

True. Is having an account with no balance the same as having a balance and paying it? They should both go down as current right?

I'm not suggesting doing this everyday, more than once, or even at all, but it is an option, if you don't have the money to make the large payments to increase your business credit rating. The rating system the DNB uses is 0-75. The numbers increase by opening multiple accounts and making large purchases and getting them paid. Buying a pack of Lifesavers is not gonna make the cut. Every company and everyone's situation is different. Plus kind in mind the greater the DNB credit, the more they sale your account information. Never give them your personal cell phone info, the worst company they can sale your account to is the "Sales Genie" people, which they do.

Which leads us back to what DomainDiva and I said about not liking D&B...
Just build a strong personal credit rating and avoid the spam and mass telemarketings.

We should all partner up and start our own business credit bureau.

That's an idea. Sounds like a pretty lucrative operation. Charging people over $500 for something they can do for free.

Sounds good with me, but we would have to creep under the wire, they try to destroy small companies they feel will be any type of threat.

Can't destroy a rival credit bureau, because we would give ourselves a high credit rating...

Believe it or not the Business system in Canada is a lot smooth than the states. The DNB system is one of the best examples of the "Middleman" pimpin in America. Charge you for an account then charge companies to buy your account, classic war president action.

I could believe it. I think it is wrong of D&B to do what they do.
That's why many business owners are posting alternative ways to get around the fees.
