Grant can be used for business expansion, hiring employees, paying off dept, etc. Ideal candidates are us citizens who own or run a business and are in a lot of debt that can use cashflow to pay off that debt.

Grant money is not easy to get, so even access to such agencies is not enough for most people.

It appears that building business credit is still a requirement. Small business owners should be reminded to do that first.

If you look at my profile, you would clearly see I was a former Dun and Bradstreet employee and I am Dunsright certified. I am also a reseller for Experian business, so while you are correct that you need a strong business credit profile for the purposes of business loans, that is not the case (in this case) for these types of Grants. Everything necessary to obtain the grant is, simply put, an american with an american business.

while you are correct in saying that business credit is important, as a former Dun and Bradstreet employee I know for a fact that a business credit report is NOT necessary for the Grant. If someone needs business credit, they should go direct to www.dnb.com/ as there are a lot of people who "build" credit, but use fear tactics to get customers. If a business credit profile was necessary for the grant why would I not mention that to begin with?

at least, for this grant credit is not necessary. But business owners, you need to take heed -- business credit IS very very important.
