It is difficult to be a professional when neither the staffing company nor the client company furnish the right technical and project management tools to run the project. Even when you own the tools, you can't get them on the client's network to do the job because you are not really an independent contractor responsible for an end result with interim milestones, you are a defacto employee, if you will.
