I'm looking for a very simple home based accounting software package for less than $100.

I currently have QuickBooks, but it is just too complicated for me.

My business is very small, but its too large to just do things by hand, and I'm not good with excel.

Any suggestions?

Luckiest,

Why do you want to help me for free?

I'm not really interesetd in learning how to use QuickBooks. I think they ruined the program. I used to use QuickBooks in the 1990s when it was simple and intuitive. Now it doesn't make any sense to me and I'm an accountant by trade.

Hi Lenny,

I use quickbooks myself and yes, it can get complicated sometimes. There's one program that I hear is simple and very detailed but have not tried it yet. The program's name is Accounting Express 2009 and you can download it for free in the microsoft website. http://www.microsoft.com Check it out and let me know how it works.

I have clients and they like you don't seem to like the QB. So what I did for them is created a spread sheet in excel that is very simple to use and gets the job done. If you want I can email it to you and you can try it for yourself.

Good luck,

Ben.

Hey,
What type of business do you run? I am majoring in accounting, I am thinking if there's anything I could do while in school with little capital like $6000.

Hi Dany,

I am also an Accounting student and have a few credits left to graduate, what I offer my clients is bookkeeping. I'm not sure how much into your degree you are but I think why not get paid for something you enjoy to do, in our case is Accounting. :)
