I just finished the three day last weekend and after the first day I was on FBO and found a project here in my home town of San Antonio at one of the military bases, I answered the solicitation on Monday (4-20-09) and went on the site visit yesterday and my bid is due on 4-28-09), I agree with you there is no way that 10 out of 100 people could self teach themselves and get 1/2 the information that I got in three days.

If you folks form a forum on this let me know I would like to be invited. I had to call B2G in Fla today to ask one of the support team members to read my solicitation to see if I was missing anything and which federal form I should use to send in my bid and he was very helpful so we do get hand holding when we need it, try that on a self taught on line course of any other type of free course.

Cwett9177, good luck! So the member advisors got you taken care of? I'm one of the other instructors - other than the team that was in San Antonio last weekend - so if you need any last minute help on that bid or to review, email me direct at ted@govcon101.com. A win right out of the gate would be awesome.

Yes, On Monday 20th 2009; we attended their 3 hour high pressure get-to-gether. I'm not inpress. I have been in business for over 25 year and have 38 year+ working for people who get Goverment Contracts direct and Hire me indirect to finish the Tasks at Hand. I have seen the changes on getting the Contracts who quilifies and it depents on status of your company is always the big issue on recieving the services, work or products accounts. Almost Every Firm, Contractor or Vendor I've been with will Last a few years in the GAME and the Game is Over. Agency Contact Person, or the Purchase Contractor will Change and the work will be phase out, it's just the way it is. I've never tried to get a contract, lots of paper work involve.
B2G could not answer my Questions and did not really want me to be in the room with twenty new Lamb to Fleece. I was with my Girlfriend who has a Women Own Business and thought this might help in the future tiff times ahead. Too bad she did not have the $3,500 to give to these Jokers, Con-artist. Afterward I spoke with on of the goons, he asked me to come back the next day should I change my Mind.
Then I came upon this web site and Read All about B2G.
I was surprise with the B2G CEO-Founder arrested and the San.Diego Report when B2G was there 1st of April 2009, a few weeks ago I was in San Diego finishing up a Vacation. But did not watch any News.
Then yesturday this guy call my cell No. and tried to convince me to join B2G, by then they moved to Fairbanks to give there sales job. So I told him what I found out on the web and he really got piss-off and tried to tell me I have bad and old infomation and I should not rely on the soruce,,,Web Bloggs.

Oh Well I told him 7-times I'm not inrested with B2G and that is that, I spent 25 minute on the Phone call!

I think they could not gett enought Lamb to Come back for the May 7th - 9th Slotter Workshop.

Geobiz,

Register on CCR first and take a look around. Then register on FBO and look at the videos and they can help you with the basics. Then go to a workshop and things will be clearer. Don't wait until you go to a seminar. You will lose a lot of time. I was one of 2 who had a clue about what he was saying and I got a lot. Oh and relax. let the information just come inside of you and take some notes. You will go to sleep and the next day you will go to the different departments as he suggested look at the small business opportunities and learn each day. Don't get in the craze. Just enjoy and learn and try things out. YOu will learn fast there is no short cut, only frantic winding roads. But if you learn, stop, think, and explore the little you learn in the workshop, you will master it just as the B2G team did. you will soon know much, and you will bid way before the bid. (DIBBS) is where you bid on things by simply putting in the solicitation numbers provided on the opportunity in FBO. The rest of the bids are calling and visiting the different departments, just as Fred said. There are 7000 departments to choose from. Take a look at some or search for the fed govt departments and you will find a list on in the search. Open it and take your pick, or what sounds good for your business. Work on these things and you will get familiar without the frantic noise, and you will find a deal for your business. if you have a service as you do, you just contact the department by email first and send them a nice bio, tell them where you live and then give a call, and let them know what area you're in and what you can offer them. keep it up. it's a numbers game and you will win. When you do you will have peace and love in your heart and will not be a stressed out mess. And they will remember your good work and your specialty and they will call again.
goodnight. Tobu

Hi Ted,

I am Tobu and I am the woman with the red magic wand. I am too tired to write again but I have posted a question and have also answered "geo..." with my take on the workshop experience I attended a few days ago. Can you find them? I wrote on April 23rd. No matter how harsh people are with you, you maintain a very kind affect. I sincerely appreciate that. That has nothing to do with making money. And no one can train for that as you can see here on this forum. Thank you. Sincerely, Tobu

Oh my,

I don't see the question I placed on this forum and I'm so tired. I received some very valuable info at the workshop. I saw how we could be a broker for the feds, but I did not get to go and look at the computer demonstration and I did not see how, after going to the archives and finding the point of contact, where to go, to see the upcoming opportunities that are to be posted in the future, so I could call the point of contact and offer my quotes. I don't suppose you would repeat that for me? Ted, or anyone who knows. I missed that crucial step and if I had only gone to the demonstration, I would have clearly understood. Instead I chose to stay inside, because I was afraid I was going to miss something and I would have (tips about the naics codes). I definitely could not be in both places at once.
Is there any chance I can get a hint??? From anyone on the forum??? I can try to help anyone who can help me. Sincerely, Tobu

Cwett - I hail from Bishop, CA and that's where my staff resides but I criss cross the country doing the class. In Phoenix this weekend, Orlando next, Anchorage the one after that and finally Newark. Then some much needed R&R before the B2G Conference.

By the way all, we just confirmed today that Tyree Varnado, the Deputy FAS (the part of GSA that does Schedules) Commissioner is going to speak at the Conference. I've known Tyree for almost 10 years and he is a phenom addition to the Conference.

Oh ye with the red wand, two ways. When you go to the archives in FBO, call the contracting officers and ask when their re-bids are going to come up. Remember that gov't contracts cycle on a 3-5 year average. The other way is that almost every agency posts a "wish list" called a forecast. Very few know about that and we'll guide you through how to use that and other tools.

Oh yeah, one more thing on the 'brokering'. The Fed Bid site right now has about 200+ opps posted. When the gov't gets near the end of the fiscal year, there will be over 1,000 and they will be bidding 7 days a week. Best to get the tools in place now so you're not learing at the last minute!!

GovCon, you didn't comment on the "no bid" representation at the meeting here in Atlanta. Yes there are over 200 buy opportunities listed. However, many of the corporations that manufacture these products are bidding directly - or other GSA Schedule Companies are bidding with their dramatically reduced pricing. "Small Business Set Aside" - does not quite mean what it was represented to mean in terms of giving a special advantage. A company with $800MM in sales is still considered a "small business" if it is the subsidiary of a company with less than 500 employees... regardless of the gross sales of the company.

I appreciate your helpful demeanor, but I do feel that some of what was represented here in Atlanta was deliberately misleading. Can you address that issue please?
