Hi All,

I posted a question about 2 days ago under my user name Busy_42. I think I received several responses back but unfortunately something went wrong with my login credentials so I was not able to view any of the answers/advice I was given.

The question was how to go about starting a snow cone business in Houston Texas. I needed a guide for how to prepare a business plan, finding the right location, collateral, marketing and any other information you could give.

As I mentioned in my original question. I am a single mother, have no money to use for this business, trying to see if a minority lender institute is out there somewhere for me to talk too.

I appreciate all the help in advance.

So, my name is Martha, I posted a few questions about 4 days ago on how to go about opening a snow cone business in Houston Texas. Anybody with info is greatly appreciated.

Are their some type of hones and legit grants out there for me. I'll be honest I'm flat broke but have great ideas and know that this type of business can work in the are I'm thinking about. At some point I would like to possibly expand.

Not sure if I'm doing all this right, since I am new to the game. I'm sure someone will let me know if I'm wrong in how I'm going about all this.

Thanks

Martha,

There are a lot of resources available for your situation. As you come across these resources just keep in mind you have to start building strong business credit immediately! You may not see the significance of it right now but in a year you'll think this was sound advice.

Thanks for responding. I've been reading other threads and looked at Score's website. A lot of info there. I'll start reading and hopefully find my answers.

Thanks

I posted a great post. But the mod's have to approve it first. Why? Not sure. Has never happened before.

But you have to read it. It should provide everything you need to know.

Martha,

The internal revenue service along with the Small Business Associations has alot of information online in referenct to starting a small business and the step by step outline.

In reference to a business plan, there are several sites including the SBA that offers a free online service of writing a business plan. Get a couple of books and read up on your industry you are talking about starting. SCORE is great, but some of them are out of touch with the up to date information going on. The internet is a wealth of information. There are alot of pitfalls in owning your own business talk to someone who has been doing what your talking about starting and listen, take notes and ask for guidance. Find a mentor out of your marketing target range; therefore, you are not a threat to their capital or their business.. Hopefully this will help..

New to this forum.. but hoping this will help. Ya.. If you want more advice post...
