I am in the very early stages of opening my own retail clothing store. I am having a hard time finding contact information for distributors of high end clothing such as 7 for all man kind and true religion. How do I go about buying wholesale/bulk for these types of clothing.

Thanks,

Welcome to this website. Between this website and putting together a business plan and going to small business
seminars, it will help you in opening your own retail clothing store.
To buy wholesale you have to have a Federal I D Number. On line go IRS.com and get a Fed I D
Do you have a business name?? How about location?? Do you have the funds??
Stay in touch, LUCKIEST

Thanks for the reply. I do have a name for the buisness as well as the general area I would like the buisness to reside. I have no funding as of yet. I have not completed my buisness plan and I am working on a cash flow projection and need to know cost of purchasing inventory then negotiate mark up. So I really need some pricing information from wholesalers.

h2. 1, A business plan serves as an assessment tool. As you work your way through the plan, you have to use best guess numbers, especially with cash flow projections. I would be happy to help out.

For starters no distributors will even talk with you until your store is officially open. I am the owner of an upscale boutique and I carry high-end denim for men and women. I actually found the numbers of the designers corporation on the net, I was then giving the numbers to the showrooms. I let them know that I was a new boutique and I would like to carry there line, They will then send you a new client application you have to send them pictures of your store inside and out as well as finacial information and the list of lines you already carry. Some designers will give you a quick line sheet others will not True Religion is very hard to get. they want you to already have other major lines such as Frankie B, Paige premium, Hudson and, so on. Please make sure your credit is good because you can get factored with a net 30 instead of paying cash and, using your cc for all inventory purchases. Some designers have a min first order some do not. It is always better to under order then over. I am 3 months into my business and it is very hard but, this is my dream and I am going to make it a success. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!

Just what I needed to hear. But if one is starting new whats the criteria they look at to see whether or not they want to send you their line or not. Also, if an item does not sell do they take it back and send you something else or you just pay them for the inventory and then its your headache?

Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanking-You,
Troikia
