I am an "in-th-closet" writer who would love to come out. Most of my work is non-fictional; real life experiences regarding teen pregnancy, Adoption, Plights of Raising Children, Divorce, and Wife Beating. I am aware that many magazines have deleted this topic, my writing is from the heart for they are all real in my life.

I am looking for magazine editors/agents who would be interested this subject matter.

I also plan on creating a series of Childrens' Books using experiences of children in families of 2 or more children that would have the mother teach their children "what the right thing to do is."

I know that there is someone within this wonderful group that would have some information regarding my request.

Thank you...

What is your primary objective, i.e., your main reason for wanting to "come out" as a writer -- to spread a message, to build your name/rep, to make money, something else . . .? (I know, several of those may figure in right now -- but what is it that you're really trying to make happen in the long term?)

Thank you, Lighthouse24, for your quick response. My main purpose is to help folks ( In your terms to spread a message) , and get my feet wet. Since many of the articles are from an earlier date, and some things may have changed, the emotion felt has not. What I have to say will likely help many readers, and eventually I can make a name for myself. But for now the main purpose is to help other folks, and if there is a $ in it that would be the cherry on top, but that is NOT the reason for this path.

Lighthouse24, may I ask what field you are in that pertains to this response?

My field is business consulting (so I've written articles for magazines, trade journals, periodicals, etc.). I'm also a partner in a publishing firm (books and educational materials).

I am interested in your experience! How long have you been writing and business consulting? I have had a few online businesses, which through time have passed away. Right now my concentration is to be published. I can also edit other writings, for my eyes/brain automatically pick out mispellings, and literary inconsistencies.

How can you help me, and how can I help you?

I started my own company in 1988, but had quite a bit of experience prior to that with other firms. You are welcome to e-mail "Keeper" at the website address in my profile and briefly describe a project that you feel is ideal for publication (put your SBOC username in the subject line of the e-mail, and I'll alert them to pass it to me when it arrives) . I'll contact you after that and we'll see if anything develops. (Don't worry, we're not some kind of subsidy/vanity press operation that will start hitting you up for money -- and of course, there's no guarantee that we'll find a way to move forward on anything that's beneficial to both of us -- but we can explore the possibility.) I'll look forward to hearing from you.
