hey my name is alex and i'm a college freshman. i'm moving to houston texas and ive been looking into the idea of possibly at some point buying something like a condo, and renting it out to 1 or 2 people, however many permitting. how realistic is the idea of getting one for under $50,000 (which requires a little to moderate amount of renovation), with a small down payment and low monthly payments. i think that at an early age aiming for quantity over quality, and then selling/buying/upgrading etc is the best approach. credit isn't a problem. what are the liability issues faced by a landlord? is there insurance? any advice or tips would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
