I live in Michigan and would like to get started on a used car business that has a small auto repair facility. My partner and I are ASE certified mechanics and also Senior Ford Masters. We will have no problems with repairing and inspecting vehicles that we purchase. I am just having a hard time understanding the process of getting vehicles and turning them into profit. What is considered a good profit per vehicle? Also what are the things that I need to look for when starting this business such as Insurance, dealers license, Setting up a corporation, building leases, software,etc..
How much cash flow or finacing is needed to start such a business? I would like to sell vehicles between $3000 and $10000.

I am a SCORE Counselor. SCORE is FREE and I would be happy to help you with the bookkeeping, getting the vehicles and figuring profit. Also Insurance and setting up the corp.
