Have you networked locally? Attend local events and talk with people. A few years ago, I helped a person get an IHOP. We attended local networking events and found several doctors who partnered with this person. Now, he has five IHOPs.

Just another option.

Attend any event where more than one person gathers. I am not sure where you are from - but, you can go to your local chamber of commerce and ask them for a list of social or networking groups - they should be able to provide you a list of groups and events. Go and start talking to people - you just never know who you will meet - they may fund you or know someone who will.

If you don't have a chamber - try contacting the managing editor of your local newspaper or TV stations - they will know.

Don't think that any event is not worth it - you just don't know until you attend and talk with people. But, you have to make the effort - money will not just come to you.

For anyone seeking investors or partners - you have to get out there - you have to get out and sell yourself. I know this is tough and usually not in everyone's comfort zones - but, it does work. I know from experience. Getting any kind of funding is not easy or fast - no matter what anyone tells you. You have to do the work and that usually starts with pounding the pavement. Its like playing the lottery - you cannot win if you don't play. You cannot find investors or partners unless you are out selling yourself to them.

I know a lot of people think that they can just post in a forum or write an email to a private equity firm or group and they will get the funding they want. It just does not happen that way (would be nice if it did). You have to get out there.

In these networking groups/events/meetings - don't dismiss anyone. Meet a CPA - he may be the accountant for a rich business owner or doctor. Meet a lawyer who does work with a rich person. Many times CPAs, lawyers, government officials, etc are the "gatekeepers" for these individuals. These investors like to get referrals from people they know and trust. First, it cuts down on them being stopped every where on the street by people asking for money - and, they work with these gatekeepers and trust their judgements.

Just my thoughts
